Urban races
Andrew hits the streets
With a step up in age class, Andrew Page found himself let out of the park and into the streets, where he managed to beat some experienced campaigners in an impressive run down in Poole
Winscombe & Sidcot
Urban race, 13 June
A message from Graham Hartley, who is planning Bristol OK's event midway through June. Courses available for juniors as well as seniors. Graham would also be delighted to have help from any QO members on the day.

On dunes & campus
Dunes can be a struggle for many but 20 from our club ran on Sunday and really tested themselves. Among them was Oliver Lewis, runner-up on the Yellow course, which he raced round without using a compass! Do we encourage this at our JOG sessions?!
QOFL handicap league
Winners 2017-18
Congratulations to Robin Carter of Devon OC for winning the Blue league and hence the series. Robin becomes the first female to win under the handicap score system in at least a decade. Well done Robin!
Events 2018/19

More post-run treats
This is getting into a habit...two weeks' running we've been spoiled rotten! Last week at the holiday park it was pasties and ice creams, this week it was complimentary cream teas and cakes. All those extra calories were well-earned, of course, after a run in the baking sun.

& news round up
It's just like catching buses...you don't see one for a while then two come along at once...opportunities to run at Braunton Burrows have been rare over the years but this Bank Holiday you can run there twice. Also featured:
- Brislington urban event
- AGM agenda
CompassSport Cup
"No" to October date
Hopes that we could reschedule March's postponed regional heat have been dashed. The tournament's committee rejected a proposal from QO to rebook the prestigious event at the Slades for early October.
The flipside is we have been offered a wildcard entry to the final in the Midlands.
Forest League
Who's going to win?
Who wins the league very much depends on who turns up at our final fixture of the season at Blackborough!
Mendip event
Yoxter Ranges military league
A rare chance to run on a very interesting open and feature-rich area locally arose on Wednesday (9 May). It was on the Mendips and though it was a Military League South event, civilian orienteers were welcome. Several QO went.
BOK Trot & Ross urban
Weekend action
Despite the efforts of its mud-loving wild boar population, the Forest of Dean remains a lovely place to run at this time of year, with the trees well-spaced out and free from brambles! Bill Vigar was runner-up on his course.
