Planning Courses are now available!
We are offering an opportunity to take part in an orienteering planning course aimed at adults and older juniors. The course will consist of two evening sessions on Thursday 14th May and Thursday 11th June at 7:30 pm in the Coach building at French Weir. It will cover the ‘basics’ of planning that apply equally to a JOG or a national level event, reinforced by detailed exercises focused on white to orange/light green standard.
QO success at Yeovil Half Marathon!
Our runners aren't just good at orienteering - they are also good at getting PBs too! On Sunday 29th March, several QO members travelled to Yeovil for the Half Marathon and 10k.
The 2026 JOG season draws to a close
The Broomfield/Fyne Court event marked the end of the Spring Term and the overall 25/26 JOG season. Over the season we had over 80 different competitors completing a total of over 300 runs. With many new families enjoying our sport this heralds a bright future. Thank you to all you Planners, Controllers and Organisers who have made this happen, and our gratitude to those behind the scenes, Jeff for his expert results calculation and Phil and Ollie for their website support.
We will have some summer JOG specials and the new season will begin in September – watch this space.
QO at Team GB Selection
Success for Finley at the Team GB qualifier!
Remembering Bob Lloyd
We're sad to announce that Bob Lloyd has passed away. Bob was a QO member for about 50 years, and did a huge amount for the club. He died peacefully on 8th March at the age of 86.
February Roundup
February was a fairly low-key month as far as QO-organised events go, but QO members have been busy taking part in events elsewhere, including some big competitions.
QO at the Taunton Half Marathon
7 QO members took on the 40th edition of the Taunton Half Marathon, which saw a impressive 2000 runners take on the 13.1 mile undulating course heading west out of Taunton. Adam even managed to take home one of the trophies!
QO success at the British Champs 2026!
9 QO members made the trek up to Carreg Coch in South Wales to do battle with the finest Welsh mountain terrain at the British Champs.
Another Street Series programme comes to an end!

Netherclay JOG 31st January 2026
Postponed
Reluctantly we have decided to postpone the Netherclay JOG due to take place on Saturday 31st January. There has been extensive flooding and, although some of the water has receded, the forecast indicates that the water levels will rise again with the prospects of parts of the course being under water.
We will contact you as soon as we have a new date for this event. Thank you for your continued support and patience.
