David Parkin 1933 - 2019
It is with sadness we announce the death of Dave on 3 February.
One of the club's earliest members, Dave soon became chairman and a long-serving one at that. His son Richard described orienteers as being his father's extended family.

Did anyone benefit from last week's training video at Croydon Hill? With several controls on point features not far from a line feature, the area certainly lent itself to choosing a good attack point, the subject of the video here

Permissions
Andrew to assist Bob
The committee are pleased to announce that our long-standing permissions officer Bob Lloyd now has an understudy, Andrew Hopkins. Andrew will take over from Bob after the AGM, when Bob retires.
New rules
for mapping & planning
Calling course planners... please be aware that BOF have issue updated rules new for 2019.
The majority of the changes also relate to mapping, in particular aligning with the relatively new mapping standard ISOM 2017.
Glut of action
Weekend review
After the culinary glut of the festive period, this weekend there was a sporting glut. Some members travelled far and wide, to the New Forest, Bristol, Lanhydrock and Stroud.
