Andy Rimes and Rosie Wych coped well with some highly technical orienteering in the Julian Alps of Slovenia at the end of July. An abundance of contour and rock features and general absence of paths or other line features made for a tough challenge.

Overall results

Andy was 17th of 34 on M55L and Rosie was 13th of 24 on W60L.

Both had their best results on Day 3, Rosie coming 7th and Andy 15th. Andy runs looked to be very consistent, not an easy thing to achieve on such difficult terrain.

The scoring system was quite unforgiving- daily times were added together to produce a final five-day time. A mispunch on any one day disqualified you from gaining a final position and a third of the competitors in both Andy and Rosie's classes mispunched at some stage.

The action continues for the pair next week when they head to the Low Countries for the 4 Days of Limburg festival. The attraction there is inland dune systems.
