RaceSignup
Our new online entry system
As we prepare for the coming season, we have selected a new pre-entry and online payment system called RaceSignup. Written by Pete Davis from Southampton Orienteering Club, I'm sure many of you have already used it when entering Devon's events.

Review of the Second Quantocks Challenge
Roger Craddock tells us of his run on this year's Quantocks Challenge.

Scottish 6 Days
Lochabar 2021
Several of the dozen QO runners managed to get themselves snapped or even better, videoed in action at the recent biannual tournament. Many are seen running - the photographers didn't venture far into the leg-sapping terrain that often made up the greater part of the course!

Beat the Street Success
Our ‘Beat the Street’ Certificate awarded on coming 4th in the Groups competition in Taunton in July. Members were asked to find as many card-activated boxes around the town in 1 hour- walking, running, or cycling. Points for each box were accumulated for each member and added together.

Hunt for Missing Results
Our historical results archive has grown this week thanks to member and mapper Bill Vigar digging out some from 2005 to 2015.
We are currently focussing on results since 2000, but hope to grow the archive back beyond this in time.
If you think you might have some old sets of results, have a look at our archive to see what's missing...

Yvette Baker Final
QO were represented at the Yvette Baker Final at Westonbirt last Sunday.
Because of the success of the Junior Section over the last few years the Club has been designated a ‘Large’ club and competed in the Major Trophy competition.
Seven of our Juniors made the journey to the Cotswolds to compete in the complex network of paths, rides, and public spaces.
QOFL 2021-2
We're hoping that government guidance and landowner permissions are going to come together and allow us to put on a good season.
JOG Autumn 2021
OK, so our plans have gone a bit out of the window because Forestry England has raised its fees and now treats juniors as full adults in their pricing structure. This happening so late in the permissions process has meant that we have had to make some difficult decisions.
We fundamentally believe that JOG events should be run as cheaply as possibly, and have always subsidised them from income from bigger events. We cannot achieve that under the new charging regime so have done our best to restructure the already-planned series to enable it to go ahead.
Some events will have physical controls as usual. Some will have to be conducted using GPS controls as we did during COVID restrictions. And some might have some courses one and some the other.
Street Series 2021-2
The fixtures for the next series, starting in the autumn, are starting to come together.
Volunteer Profiles
As it is national Volunteers Week, we are shining a light on what our volunteers do and why. We hope to update this page every day with a little profile of someone who gives up their time to help.
We need more people to share about their volunteering. Please drop a few lines to chair@ ...
