Richard Sansbury has planned four weekly street events within Taunton. You can run the course any time you like during its allotted week. Download a copy of the map & the free app onto a smartphone, then read these notes - and you're ready to go.

The series

The first four events use smartphones but the final event is a big event using kites and SI electronic punching. You won't see the MapRun events advertised on ours or BOF's events listings because there's no event as such- just a week long window in which to take your run.

Entries

Free of charge. All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Safety

All entrants take part at their own risk. Stay alert to traffic at all times. The priority for all entrants should be to return safely. 

Please show courteousy and understanding to other users of course environment. This event is not covered by British Orienteering's insurance policy. 

Courses will be open for a week from 07:00 each Sunday, when they will be replaced by the next course. The exception is the Pyrland course, which will run till 11 August to give those away at the Lakes 5 Days a chance to run it too. 

Equipment

If you don't have access to a smartphone, the club have a few basic models that can be borrowed.

Please ensure you are using the latest version of the MapRun app. You should NOT use MyOMaps, as it is out-of-date and could cause problems with your time.
