Henlade Hill

JOG6

Sat 18 Mar

Near: Taunton
Level of event: Activity

Type of event: Training, Juniors

A delightfully compact, bounded area with a mixture of wooded and open areas, with good views over the surrounding countryside.

Fox is a map memory, but competitors can take a blank map if required. There will be 5 master maps, 1 at the start and four more at various controls sites on route.

Please note there is a large pond at the bottom of the valley which is unfenced - children should stay clear.

Course Information

We cater from beginners through to a good club standard. We call the courses Hare, Squirrel, Badger, and Fox and these offer a clear progression in the difficulty level. The Fox course usually incorporates adult training exercises.

Hare to Badger usually uses PIN punching, and sometimes also the option of QR code punching using your smartphone. The latter has the training benefit of the GPS tracks automatically being added to Routegadget for post-run analysis. Fox is sometimes PIN/QR punching and sometimes GPS punching. The latter is also automatically uploaded to Routegadget.
