Our Forest League series for next year has been arranged, we are hosting the CompassSport Cup qualifier again, and we also have an urban race lined up to finish the season.

Now that this winter season is over, it's time to announce our main events programme for next winter. Our popular Forest League series is arranged, we are hosting the CompassSport Cup qualifier again, and we also have an urban race lined up to finish the winter season. We will also have JOG in between, to be announced nearer the time.

We've a variety of areas, but the first three are on classic Quantock locations. The first two dates will still be in British summer time and if we're lucky we may still have decent weather. We finish 2023 with our postponed Aisholt event, which we've now promoted to be our SW League contribution. Next January we have our shared event with Devon, and 2 weeks later we are trying a new twist on a familiar location. We've used Culm Davy many times before but this time we will try starting at the Culmstock end and use more of Blackdown Common. For CompassSport we are going further afield to the extensive forests near Dunster, and Bridgwater is a top quality urban area to close the winter season with.

You may notice that some of these events are arranged for Saturdays. The idea here is to avoid conflicts with other clubs. All clubs are finding that winter seasons are now squeezed into a fewer weekends by access restrictions and hence clashes have been becoming more frequent. With so much effort going into each event it is only fair to our volunteers to try and maximise the attendance and we hope the Saturday scheduling will achieve this. We're aware this will not suit everyone but its a trial, we'll see how this goes.

We're currently in the process of finding volunteers to plan and organise these events. If you think you might be able to help us out in either role, and want to find out more, then please get in touch. Contact me, Richard Sansbury, at the chair@ email address.
