Swansea Bay Weekend
Low key but technical!
A gem of a summer festival, hosted annually by another small club, Swansea Bay OC.
What areas Swansea Bay boast. Fiendish dunes test the technical skills but relaxing on the wonderful beaches adjacent is a just reward for your efforts.
Sometimes called Midsummer on Gower, the weekend has not always been held in late June or on the Gower! In 2019 the other-worldly Kenfig near Porthcawl was used.
Events and organisation are low key but this is in proportion to the attendances, which are not high- often no more than a QOFL. Even so, some very good orienteers attend.
There's sometimes a welcome event on the Friday evening. This is typically followed colour coded events or even a relay race on the following days. SBOC usually offer to help fix you up with a relay partner. Sometimes the event will coincide with a Welsh League event offering a Brown course.

The event is a favourite of Andy Rimes and Rosie Wych. Others attending over recent years have been Jeff Pakes, the Lewis family, and in 2022 Roger Craddock, Shelia and Hamish and the Sorrell-Hemmings family.
