Wow! What a positive start to the new season! Angela Modica put together some excellent courses and, with numbers far exceeding expectation, and participants ranging from 70+ down to under a year, there was a palpable feeling of happiness to be back orienteering after a long summer break. Presentations were made for the 2023/2024 season and, as Judy and Roger step back from the front line, they were presented with a book of photos and messages from JOG members. The Junior Orienteering Group is Roger and Judy’s creation, and they have dedicated so much time and effort to it for more years than they were willing to admit!

The atmosphere was warm and sociable, and it was lovely to see the children playing together in the park after their runs. JOG really does offer a great deal apart from the orienteering itself, and it was great to welcome new families as well as regular runners. Even the weather smiled on us. After two very wet days, we had a window of pleasant dry weather before the rain closed in again just after we packed up and left. All in all, an excellent event to set the tone for the season. Thanks to everyone who came and everyone who helped.
