Finley and Mark delivered great courses and still found time to help Ray and Sue battle a tent in wild weather. Turnout was superb, with smiles from young Crispin to our most seasoned competitor.

A cheerful, resilient crowd - thanks all for coming!

A day for heroics! Planner Finley and Controller Mark deserve extra praise today, not only for producing great and suitably challenging courses, but also for being out early in the morning placing controls before helping the organisers (Ray and Sue) overcome the challenge of set up the tent, in what can only be described as ‘wild’ weather. The feeling of relief, once the tent was secured by tying it to the van, was short lived though, when it proved to be anything but waterproof! However, the turnout of participants was amazing, and everyone, from our youngest competitor Crispin to our oldest (um, lets not give that one away), came back with smiles on their faces. The vibe was sociable and positive, so rewarding for all those involved in arranging the event.

Thank you everyone for turning out. Orienteers are a hardy bunch!

Finley and Mark finally got away late into the afternoon after they, along with Linda and Richard, had collected in the very soggy controls. Amazing commitment all round.

Course Information

We cater from beginners through to a good club standard. We call the courses Hare, Squirrel, Badger, and Fox and these offer a clear progression in the difficulty level. The Fox course usually incorporates adult training exercises.

Hare to Badger usually uses PIN punching. Fox is sometimes PIN punching and sometimes GPS punching. The latter is also automatically uploaded to Routegadget.

  • Squirrel - 1.8km and 30m climb
