Another excellent turnout for the last JOG event of the term. The Northeasterly wind was keen once out of the shelter of the trees, but otherwise the weather was kind and there were smiles all round. UPDATED WITH PHOTOS AND WRITE UP!

Another excellent turnout for the last JOG event of the term. The Northeasterly wind was keen once out of the shelter of the trees, but otherwise the weather was kind and there were smiles all round. It has been a very competitive year, especially on the squirrel course and none of us could predict the final league results until the day – exciting! Well done to Ray for beavering away on his laptop in the van so that we could award certificates and trophies at our ‘tea party’ in Broomfield village hall following the event. We were able to announce the results of the JOG league for the spring term as well as the overall results for the season.
Thank you to everyone who brought delicious food to share, and to Judy and Sarah for masterminding the kitchen.
Thanks also to Steve for excellent courses, Joao and Sara, Richard, Adam and Hazel (who it turns out make a mean fruit cake!) and Linda for collecting controls, and Annabella for helping on registration and download along with the ever dependable Roger and Judy.
We hope to hold one or two events over the summer – September is way too long to wait!! - so watch out for further information. Remember also that there are other events around, with courses suitable for JOGgers (look, for example, on the Devon Orienteers website).
Thank you and well done to everyone who has participated in any way in another successful JOG season, including the ‘behind the scenes’ workers such as Phil who puts all our photos on the website (Phil - sorry they were a bit late for this one!), Sheila who sorts out our venues, dates planners and controllers, Andrew and Rosie who gain permissions, Geoff who is our results calculator and Angela who keeps an eagle eye on the equipment store.

This is the final JOG event of the spring term where the league placings will be decided. Directly after the event we will meet at the Broomfield Village hall (just down the road) to announce the final results and award certificates and trophies. Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided. Please “bring and share” whatever teatime snacks you like.
Dogs are allowed but there may be Highland cattle in the fields that are used on Badger and Fox courses so dogs must be controlled on a lead in those fields. Only cross the fences at crossing points/stiles and gateways.
