Henlade Hill is little-known gem of a location, perfect for a small orienteering event. This well kept site has amazing variety for a small location. It has thick mature woodland, fresh young broadleaf plantation, plenty of paths, open grassy areas and even a small lake. There are hills and viewpoints, and maybe the bluebells will still be out.
We are running a handful of Junior Orienteering Group (JOG) runs during the summer term holding low-key weekly events aimed at juniors, families, and all those looking to improve or train. Newcomers are always welcome.
Non-members are very welcome. If you like it and want to join, read about joining QO here.

The car park is small, so most of you will probably have to park nearby on the roadside. There are not many options so please park tightly and be courteous to the neighbours.
The road past the wood is quiet, but it is a through-route so please take care on the roads and supervise children.
The Hare course is 1.1km with 40m climb and 13 controls, looping around the whole area.
The Squirrel course is 1.6km with 50m climb and 16 controls, through the heart of the wood.
The Badger course is 2.0km with 90m climb and 19 controls, making two loops through the wood, with opportunity to get away the main trails.
The Fox course is a special format aimed at experienced orienteers. There are 20 controls in 10 pairs. After you punch the first of each pair you must punch the other in the pair next. But you can do the pairs in any order so careful planning will pay off!
All courses are open to all ages, we'll be happy to give advice.
Please consider buying a pack of pre-entry credits in advance. This costs you the same but saves the club a lot in credit card fees.
Starts at 1.30pm with controls being collected in from 3.30pm (No starts after 3pm)
No toilets on site, but there are toilets in the supermarket at Hankridge, 2 miles away.
