Fyne Court
JOG-S1
Sat 14 Jun
Near: Taunton
Level of event: Local
Type of event:
Training, Juniors
The thundery showers that were drenching nearby areas were kind enough to avoid the gardens and fields surrounding Fyne Court. Balmy temperatures, sunny intervals and a gentle breeze, bumblebees in the flower meadows and the sound of happy children provided the perfect backdrop to the afternoon’s activity.

As well as regulars, we welcomed some first timers – hopefully regulars to be – and everyone enjoyed the excellent, and suitably challenging, courses planned by Sheila. Thanks also to Pete for assisting Shiela put out the controls, Ray for acting as controller, Claire, Judy and Sara for helping on the desk and Tom, Finley, Pete and Sheila for collecting the controls back in.
Regular participants appreciated the chance to get out orienteering over the long summer lay off from JOG and we have one more summer special coming up on Saturday 12th July at Combe wood. The start for this one will be slightly earlier as David, the owner of the wood, is encouraging us to stay and play! There will be a camp fire and BBQ, bring your own food to cook, conquer the spider’s web and explore the woodland.
OUTDOOR FUN, FOOD AND FRIENDS – what better way could there be to spend an afternoon?
