Good luck to the dozen members who are off to the West Midlands for the annual Easter weekend festival. You can catch up with the daily action via the JK website.

After the sprint at MOD Stafford that some will run in on Friday, the action switches to Cannock Chase north of Birmingham for the Middle, Long distance and Relay events.

Biathlon option!

Inspired by the Winter Olympics? As an added attraction, the organisers are demo-ing a biathlon, with shooting rounds after your run. Don't worry, the rounds aren't live and you certainly aren't allowed to 'take out' your nearest rivals...! No need to pack skis either- unless the current weather continues.

Let's hope this is all serious- the long distance race does fall on April Fool's Day!

Entries & dibbers

This Easter's weekend festival is being held relatively close by, at Cannock Chase in the West Midlands. For those thinking of going but not yet entered, entry on the day is possible on the colour-coded courses.

Online entries to the age-based championship classes are now closed; potential entrants to those courses must now request going onto a waiting list.

The club is making its new superfast SIAC dibbers available to hire to members who are making the journey. Please let Rosie Wych if you wish to take advantage of the contactless punching the system offers and would like to hire one.

Contactless punching is on the increase and at the last JK it was apparent it can give a competitive advantage to those using it.
