Nine QO & JOG members headed down to River Dart Country Park on a warm and pleasant Sunday to tackle this steep sided wood grafted onto landscaped parkland. The previous day at JOG on Henlade Hill, seniors and older juniors were treated to a memory map exercise.

At Devon OC's event, Brian Fletcher came 4th on the blue course in a time of 53 minutes. Although he was 12 minutes behind the winner, he was only 2 minutes behind second place. Some of his time was excluded, as it was for the other runners, for a control which had been moved. On the Green course two of the three QO members running where mid table, apart from Tony Hext, who was 6th.

One of our relatively new members Ian Purnell was one of those running Green on Sunday. Overall, Ian looks like he had a decent run despite a couple of slip-ups mid-course. He actually outlasted his GPS, it appears, as his recorded route on Routegadget appears to stop after control 9. See main picture.

Senior training at Henlade Hill

In the last JOG event of the season, eight of us successfully completed a memory map course. Special mention to the Lewis family for making both the JOG event and the River Dart event the next day.
