Directions / Parking

Signposted from the busy A358 between Hatch Beauchamp and the traffic lights on the hill near Thornfalcon, further west. Please take care turning right into the site if approaching from the Taunton direction.

Terrain Description

Wooded hill top with quite steep sides, runnable sections of woodlands, occasional cleared areas and quite intricate path network.

Equipment needed by each participant

Sleeping-bags/ indoor shoes for use in the hall/orienteering gear/ wellies/ change of clothing/ plenty of warm clothes for the campfire etc./cakes or biscuits to share at teatime on Saturday. Some people will be sleeping in the main hall and they will need Li-los!

10.00am arrival of participants overnight gear left in car

10.30.-12.30 Morning coaching sessions adults and children separately.

Adults with Richard and Robin

12.30 -1.30/2.00 lunch

2.00-3.30 JOG planned by Mark Maynard, organisers Roger and Judy Craddock

3.30 Presentation of JOG certificates and trophies

4.00-4.30 Settle into accommodation/light refreshments

4.30-5.30 Outdoor activity in the dark with headlights, glowsticks etc.

6.00 Supper

7.00 onwards (adults and children)

Indoor orienteering games

Campfire + marshmallows! Night-walk?

Light refreshment? Bed

9.00-10.00 Clear up and pack cars
