With the QO banner and club shirts centre stage, more than 100 pupils at Meare Village School near Glastonbury sampled the sport as part of Wednesday's annual global celebration of the sport.

Thank you to the Macphersons (Freddie, Martha and Emily) and Toomers (Sue and Ray) for running the event.

The pupils taking part ranged from Year 1 up to Year 6 (ages 5 to 11). Each completed two point-to-point courses plus a couple of maze runs. Great fun was had by all with lots of smiling faces and refrains of “can I go again?”

Another school in Somerset had their own initiative, with Vikki Page donning her club shirt to give a presentation to a packed hall of children (pictured).

In the evening Graham Hartley continued his good form - he was winning the Green league after three events- at another Bristol OK midweek urban event, moving up to Blue and recording a respectable mid-table finish.
