Welcome to new members
We have had a few new members join the club over the last few months.
David Browne
I am from South Africa and came over to work at Hickley Point C. I have been doing orienteering (casually) for a few years and am looking forward to exploring some new places. I did the Quantocks Challenge recently which was tough but good fun.

Hello, I’m Ian. I’ve lived in Over Stowey for the last 6 years and regularly get out running in the hills and woodlands that surround me. I started running in my mid 20s as a way to explore new areas at home and abroad. I try to get into the mountains a few times a year and relish technical routes. I’ve always enjoyed navigating and decoding the stories that maps conceal so orienteering is a great way to combine the two activities.
I try to train as often as possible between work as a Civil Engineer and general life as a Dad of 3 under 5. I can also be found on my bike or out in the water surfing and sailing.
I’ve really enjoyed the few events I’ve competed in so far and am looking forward to the different challenges orienteering offers.

I do equine Trec which is orienteering on horseback, but want to improve my skills, and it is easier to practice when not on a horse that is jigging up and down!
