It started with a flurry of snow which gave way to sunshine. Then JOG as usual before heading indoors for a course planning workshop, social and a curry at the end. What a busy day!

At 1.45 there was a flurry of snow and then the sun shone for the afternoon, what luck. Sheila Braine had put a lot of time and thought into planning, even extending the map after negotiating its use with the owner of adjoining land. Look at the photos and see what a picturesque spot this is with an abundance of spring flowers. All of the courses were well received with a map memory for a very crafty Fox, keeping the more experienced orienteers on their toes.

After the JOG we all went to Kingston Village Hall for games with Alasdair and a Purple Pen group with people of mixed experience helping each other. A delicious curry and rice and cottage pie cooked by Martin Lewis’ wife Lisna was then served by Karen and Vikki and enjoyed by about 50 QO members. Thanks to everyone for supporting the event so well, thanks to Pete too for washing up so efficiently!
