Events round-up
14 & 15 January 2017
Tom Hasler has produced a roundup of the events this week, featuring the junior and night event double-header at Staple Hill and the Galoppen in the Forest of Dean. It's part of the OINFO email / Yahoo Group circular which Gavin Clegg used to edit before he left us recently.
JOG & QOAD, Staple Hill
At Staple Hill, this weekend, the first JOG of the new term resulted in several of the JOG regulars coming back rather muddy, but still smiling, after their courses.
In the evening the QOAD attracted just over a dozen competitors including a few from other clubs, Ifor Powell of BOK came in first followed by Will Kromhout, who managed to just beat Matthew Owen of BOK by four points, well done to you all. The courses, for both the JOG and QOAD, were planned by Richard Sansbury.
SW League, Forest of Dean
The BOK's Gallopen at Cannop Ponds in the Forest of Dean on Sunday saw several QO members attend. Our best results were from Bill Vigar and Tony Milroy, who came 3rd and 4th on the short green with times of 51:37 and 54:28 respectively.
Congratulations to them both for staying within five minutes of the winner for the first half of the course and within nine minutes of the winner by the end of the course.
