We have an exciting programme next year, revealed below, but to make it all happen we need people to come forward to take on the key roles of Planning and Organising.

As the winter season comes to an end, it is time to plan our events for the summer and next winter. We've an exciting programme in mind, revealed below, but to make it all happen we need people to come forward to take on the key roles of Planning and Organising. Please don't wait to be asked!

Spunch

Following a successful series last year we intend to have a Spunch series again this summer. At this stage we need to find some willing planners to contribute to the series. So if you are willing to help plan an event please contact Ollie our series coordinator using spunch@

QO Forest League

Our main, and most popular events by far, are the QOFLs - our Forest League series. We have set dates below, selected a shortlist of locations and are now looking for Planners and Organisers. We have guidance here and here respectively to give you a quick idea of what's expected.

The club will support new planners with training and advice but really QOFL planners should have some previous experience at least at JOG level. No experience is needed for organisers - we had two first time organisers last year who made it look easy! If you'd like to put your name down or just find out more, please contact me (Richard) on fixtures@

The proposed QOFL dates are:

  • Sunday 28th September
  • Saturday 25th October
  • Sunday 30th November
  • Sunday 8th February

The shortlisted locations are: Blackborough, Buckland Wood, Culmstock, Kings Cliff, Ramscombe and Staple Hill. All are subject to confirmation.

JOG

If a QOFL feels a step too far, why not help plan and organise a JOG? These might be low key and informal but still need willing planners and organisers. Experienced QO members will be on hand to help and advise anyone new to the roles. Please contact Ray & Sheila on jog@.

and the big one ...

Finally, your committee has recently agreed to host the Southern Championships in 2 years time. We could get around 400 entries, so this will be the biggest event QO has hosted for many years. We will be looking for an experienced planner and organiser to take this on. If interested please contact me (Richard) on fixtures@
