British Schools Champs
Forest of Dean
The favoured venue for many a national competition was buzzing again on Sunday, this time with children competing for their schools. Two were QO's Annabel and Chloe Carter. Meanwhile, dad Matt presumably baked in the glorious sunshine while waiting at the finish
Matt reports...
Hundreds of school children descended on Beechenhurst in the heart of the Forest of Dean.
It was cold start but glorious sunshine by the finish. Chloe was running a year young. She didn’t have the best of runs - making a catastrophic error by leaving the first control in the wrong direction. To her credit she corrected herself and got round.
Annabel had a decent run. Both girls have improved a lot thanks to all the QO training and events. The pictures shows the girls ready to start and a copy of Chloe’s G5 course. The G6 course was very similar but 2.2 km with twice as much climb.
