Cothelstone QOFL1 Results - Planners Comments:

Thanks all for taking part and special thanks to those who helped out in some way. There was a good atmosphere among those attending, no doubt helped by the lack of rain, although many of the tracks especially on the Cothelstone side were very muddy from heavy showers earlier in the week.

We knew at an early stage that we would not be able to use the lower parts of 20 acre wood. White and yellow courses were unaffected by this restriction, but other courses had to go out and come back through a very narrow strip. I hope I was able to make these parts of the courses interesting enough for you.

My early plan was to use the area on the north east part of the map for blue and possibly green as well. However I found there was lots of brambles at low level and it wouldn't have been much fun, so I kept green away and coiled up the blue course within the Cothelstone area. Blue was a bit short as a result, but there was no obvious way to make it the proper length.

I did here a few people were struggling on orange. I am sorry if it was a bit tough for you, it is difficult to get the difficulty level right.

Please make use of the Routegadget option to record your route. The more people take part in this the better for everyone. If you don't know what this is - have a look, it is an excellent facility.

Special thanks to Rosie for doing the Controller's job and for putting up with my last minute approach to planning. Thanks Andy for stepping in to do checks on the day as well as operating the SI and thanks to Bill for doing the maps.
