Many thanks to all
of you attending our first event of the season. We had a good turnout and the
best weather in the UK (not difficult). Many of you commented that the extension
to Broomfield Hill was really good to run on, thanks go to David Holmes for
doing the mapping there. I hope you took time to appreciate the view as you
dashed round the open area. There were some impressive scores, Ted Heath planned
it and told me he didn't think anyone would do all 30 controls, so well done to
those that proved him wrong. Congratulations to Ian Bartlett, who is our new
club champion. Thanks to Bill Vigar for running the electronics as usual, and to
those who helped gather controls. See you all at the Galoppen on
September 28th.

Once again Ben
has made me out to be a liar and m,any congrtaulations to him. It was not an
easy 30 controls with an unavoidable long dead run
in one direction between the two areas. I thought there was a nice contrast between the two areas
with fast running and some more difficult navigation in the west and one
or two hard flogs in the east. I think the combined area would lend
itself to a Gallopen but some original thought will be required by the planner!!! Anyway
I hope you enjoyed yourselves and found the outing worthwhile. (Sorry the results have taken so
long to get on the web site but I have been away on
holiday - yes it was hell!!!!!!)
