Registration, Start and Finish is at Wilton Lands next to the Fons George car park (free after 6pm).

We have moved the first start an hour later than usual to avoid parking problems.

The nearest facilities are the public toilets at the south end of Vivary Park, open until 7pm according to the Council website but hopefully open until the park closes around 8pm - 8 min walk, 0.4 mile. The Vivary Arms has also offered to allow us to use their toilets and visit afterwards for a little social subject to COVID-19 rules (no food is being served).

The area being used is urban and is dominated by Haines Hill, a ridge running North to South down the centre of the map along Trull Road, with the easier climb at the north end. The most distant controls are centred around the quite intricate Comeytrowe Shopping Centre. Road shoes are the most suitable footwear.

The routes are a little longer than usual, 9.5km for Short and 12.5km for Long.

As with all our Street Series events, all juniors must be accompanied due to traffic.

The map is the older urban style and contours are not shown, there is no key for symbols but a blank map will be available at Registration.

Course Information

Two courses are offered, Long and Short, using exactly the same controls.

Both are "Score" courses, meaning there isn't a set order to the controls you visit.

Short Score - the order of the controls you want to visit is entirely up to you.

Long Score - odds and evens format used. That is, there are two sets of controls, odd numbered controls and even numbered ones, one set tackled after the other. Once you switch to the second set, you cannot go back to the first set. The control circles on the map are coloured red on one set and blue on the other. The colours are meaningful only for the Long score.

The optimum routes are typically between 7.5 and 10 km for the long and 6 to 7.5 km for the short.

Each course has a time limit of 50 minutes.

Points will be deducted at a rate of 30 points per minute for each minute or part minute you're late back.

Points values for controls are variable and denoted by the first number of the control, e.g. 62 scores 60 points.
