Route from car park to assembly
This year the club championships will based at the fantastic brand new Coach centre in the middle of Taunton. The area used will be Bridgwater & Taunton College campus, Long Run meadow and a new extension into Silk Mills park and ride. Read the news story here
Club Championships Series Info
An annual one-off score event using handicapping, to decide our club champion. The event and buffet is open to all but entries and payment must be made in advance of the day.

Directions / Parking
Parking: in the car park marked on the map above, round the back (NE) side of the college campus, a stone's throw from Longrun Meadow. Should this car park become full, please use the pay and display car park, on the turning before the free one and adjacent to the Castle School access road.
This year the format will be a 45 minute or one hour Score* event plus a short Trail-O course (click link). To make the competition suitable for all ages and abilities different rules for young children will apply, and age handicaps will be used so all club members have a chance of winning.

Seniors - £8 (£5 for BOF/QO members)
Junior/student - £3 (£2 for BOF/QO members)
Family of Runners £16 (£10 for BOF/QO members)
Dibber Hire - £1
Due to using online pre-entry for this event, unfortunately we cannot offer the usual "Family Group" and "Shadowed Junior" deals.
Registration & Start Times
Register in advance of the day for the competition and the buffet at Fabian 4. Entries close Wednesday 21 June, but to assist our preparations, please enter earlier if possible. Entry on the day is possible, subject to map availability.
10:30 - please arrive by this time, ready for the briefing
11:00 - mass start
All welcome to stay on for the social afterwards whether QO members or not
12.30 - lunch
14.00 - talk - "Orienteering with Ski and Kite", with our kite-surfing orienteer, Ray Toomer! (20-25mins)
14.30 - awards ceremony: Mike Crockett presents the trophies & certificates* for the QOFL (forest league) series
15.00 - AGM (meanwhile children can have a go with Ray's kites on Longrun Meadow). Click here for Agenda
16.30 - finish

Mixed open area with adjoining nature reserve and college campus, with some paved areas.
The area is suitable for running in shorts although there will be long grass.
Not suitable for studded running shoes
SCAT is the old (and still popular) name for Bridgwater & Taunton College (Taunton Centre)
* Score competitions
In score events the idea is not to complete a course. Instead, you are a given a map showing a large number of controls. Each control will have a score associated with it. The idea is to score as many points as possible but returning within the allotted time. For every minute your are late a severe penalty will be deducted from you score.
