Crosslands
JOG2
Sat 8 Oct
Near: Thorne St Margaret
Level of event: Activity
Type of event:
Training, Juniors
A recent area for orienteering, mapped in 2020 by our Chairman. Crosslands, known locally as 'the Millenium Wood', is a 20 year old wood with a good path network and some open areas. It is totally enclosed - the only stile or gate to cross is the one from the carpark.
The Fox course this time will give you a taste of complex pivot controls. Make sure you keep track of which way you are facing and where you need to go next!

Course Information
We cater from beginners through to a good club standard. We call the courses Hare, Squirrel, Badger, and Fox and these offer a clear progression in the difficulty level. The Fox course usually incorporates adult training exercises.
Hare to Badger usually uses PIN punching, and sometimes also the option of QR code punching using your smartphone. The latter has the training benefit of the GPS tracks automatically being added to Routegadget for post-run analysis. Fox is sometimes PIN/QR punching and sometimes GPS punching. The latter is also automatically uploaded to Routegadget.
