Summer training Series Info

A series of 90 minute long evening training sessions run by our club coaches, held near Taunton and the Blackdown Hills.

Whatever your age or experience you will be very welcome. We are especially keen for our more experienced orienteers to come as they can help by sharing their skills.

If you'd like to help another improve, or would like more help yourself, then why not buddy up? Read more about our buddying scheme and fill in the questionairre to help us identify your needs.

We're using the public car park adjacent to the flat area and ramparts at the top.

£1 for members

£1.50 for non members

Please do this for each person attending the training sessions, in advance of your first session.

This form covers the whole series, so you only need to fill it in once.

Registration & Start Times

The training session runs between 18.30 and 20.00 (there is no registration or start times as such).

Terrain Description

Mostly runnable woodland, with quite complex array of earth banks, ditches and streams surrounding a steep side fort.

Important Event Information

Safety and Risk: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. All participants must report to download whether they finish their course or not.

Photography: QO has an agreed policy on the taking of photographs at events, based on national guidance. This provides a sensible balance between the benefits and risks associated with the taking and use of images. If you are unsure about acceptable practice, please speak to the event organiser.

Safeguarding: QO is aware of it's responsibilities in safeguarding and child protection. To comply with The Child Safeguarding Practice Review and Relevant Agency (England) Regulations 2018, we now provide an email address for individuals to report concerns to the Lead Safeguarding Officer.
