Poole Town race

& events coming soon

Last edited: Sun 18 Jun 2017

Great results for Sam & Andrew, winning their classes and Jacob a confident 4th! Every second counts, as Andrew won by just one second. The junior course action took place in a glorious park.

Let's hope not many people wanted to do the permanent course today - there was a course invasion (see picture below)...

Andrew's win today keeps him in second place in the South of England urban league (SEOUL). In what currently looks to be a three horse race, Andrew is splitting two runners from Thames Valley OC. The older of the two TVOC boys is still the current league leader, as up until the Poole race he had won all his races.

Next urban races

The next weekend urban event is a little nearer to QO terrain next time...it's in Dorchester on Saturday 1 July. Runners will again score points towards the South of England urban league. The online closing date is Monday 26 June.

Wimborne OC are the organisers- here's the flyer

The next urban race nearby is on Wednesday evening near Churchill, just off the A38 near the Mendips.

Bristol OK are hosting it- click here

Next weekend

A weekend of orienteering!

Saturday: Club championships in Taunton

Sunday: Relays at Ashton Court, Bristol

Now plan your strategy: are you going to use the club champs as a warm up event or the relays to wind down? Or are you going to go full throttle in both events?

Caption competition

Send suggestions to the web admin email address. Deadline Friday 23 June. Winner might be announced at club champs.

Urban orienteering was featured on BBC Breakfast recently...
