Years 3 and 4 took part in an orienteering maze event as part of Active Lifestyle Week

On Thursday 24th March, 118 children in Years 3 and 4 took part in an orienteering maze event on a gloriously sunny day.

There were four sessions, one for each class. In each session, the children were put together in pairs (and a few trios), assigned a dibber and then set off into the maze on one of four courses. Once finished, their times were downloaded and they could then attempt one of the other courses - in total 205 courses were run by 59 pairs/trios.

From Phil Sorrell, one of the QO organisers:

This was the first school event I have been involved in, and it was wonderful to see so many children have so much fun trying out orienteering. The children were all so enthusiastic, with everyone coming back to try different courses to improve on their times.

After the event, the results were reviewed and compiled - there were some fantastic times, and everyone improved on each course they completed. Thank you to Mr Low for inviting us to come in and run the event.
