Almost guaranteed weather & sun tan, plenty of choice on courses, free-flowing wine and cheap entries- orienteering further south has its attractions! This year's O France festival is in the Provence/Alps region from 7 - 12 July. Entries close on Thursday 20 June.

August

Two dozen of us ran the Lakes 5 Days up in the Lake District.

Later in the month, Andy Rimes & Rosie Wych ran at O 5 Dias near the Picos in northern Spain.

July

Several members have been testing themselves further afield. Andy Rimes and Rosie Wych at O France, Adele Appleby at the World Masters in Denmark, Andrew Page in Ypres, Belgium and John Abbott in a variety of mountain marathons.

Rosie's results in Moselle (in the NE of France) were particularly impressive. She ran consistently well over the five days and her final position was 8th out of 39 in the W60 class. Full article, Results, Website

Andrew competed in the Euro sprint league at Ieper (Ypres) in early July. Despite being pitted against runners up to the age of 16, all from abroad, he was nearer the winner's time than the person finishing last.
