A bi-annual international festival held in late July/ early August on odd numbered years. Its been a favourite with a number of QO members over the years. Its appeal includes discovering a new area of Scotland each time and the quality of terrain and maps.
in South Wales
A miniature mountain orienteering course was amongst one of the attractions for a trio of QO who made the trip to South Wales and Forest of Dean this weekend for a double-header. Ideal preparation for forthcoming summer tournaments, it was well attended by those seeking a technical challenge.
Howgills, Lake District
Arising presumably fresh from their overnight camp, the Shirvingtons had a very impressive day 2, climbing 13 places to 47th of 115.
Harterfell Class- Overall results
The Modicas meanwhile climbed one place and clocked up 16.5 hours on the hills.
In 2020 it's going to be in Snowdonia...details are gradually becoming available. See the links further below!
Croeso occurs only once every four years, sadly but understandably, given the weight of effort organising an event in relatively remote terrain with limited manpower.
Ten QO have entered for the bi-annual summer holiday attraction, which will be in Perthshire, an hour's drive north of Glasgow.
