QO again had representation at this annual race on the far south coast, which coincides with a spectacular festive display known as the 'Burning of the clocks'. But were there any scorching times recorded?

Wye O Wye? Another Dean double
Obviously feeling surprisingly fresh after last weekend's triplet of events, several QO went back to the Wye Valley / Forest of Dean area for some more. Steve R reports from Kingswood and Jeff from Soudley.
Southern Championships
& Night championships
Often held as part of the multi-event weekend. Besides the classic (long distance) race, the Southern Night Championships may be held on the same weekend. In 2019, there was also a middle race. Sometimes the long race doubles up as the November Classic.

Forest of Dean
Pete Shirvington had the run of his life on the Middle event, finishing a very close 2nd to Pete Ward, who was M45 Southern Champ in 2016.

Ringwood Forest

SW League
What a day - half of the QO runners who ran at Wimborne OC's event placed! But who fell over four times? And was the going really that rough? I'll give you a clue - she was out there two hours plus but still loved it...
November Classic weekend

Oliver Lewis and Pete Shirvington had fine runs at Sunday's classic in the New Forest. With some running in the urban and night events on the preceding days, QO had a good representation in Hampshire and Sussex.

Whitchurch Common

SW League season begins
Despite the rainy start to the day, 22 QO headed to the opening race of the new SW League season, up on Dartmoor. They were rewarded with a great event, some good runs and sunshine which made hanging around afterwards a pleasure.
Caddihoe Chase

& SW Long Distance champs
Congratulations to the new SW Long Distance & Caddihoe Chase champions Tom Hasler (M18), Oliver Lewis (M12), Annabelle Lewis (W12).
In total, fifteen QO braved the testing weather on Sheeps Tor, Dartmoor over the two events.

A South West season curtain-raiser
Held on a September or early October weekend annually. Hosts usually alternate between Devon OC in odd years and another South West club in even years.
In 2020, it'll be in the New Forest on the first weekend of October.
