You are invited to attend the session, organised by Mike Forrest of Bristol OK. It is open to any orienteer whether in QO or any other club. It is now mandatory for anyone taking the role of planner, organiser or controller to have had attended an event safety workshop

This is regardless of how experienced you are.
The workshop will discuss the safety issues surrounding our events, and what planners, organisers and controllers can do about them. You might expect to discuss:
- how to plan acceptably safe courses
- how to organise with safety in mind
- how to deal with emergencies
- what the rules and guidelines say
Hopefully this will make all that attend more confident about how to go about setting up a safe event, and our events will be better managed as a result.
The format is a workshop not a lecture - you would normally be encouraged to come and share your opinions and experiences.
